The Tucker’s Cone Art Kiln Model BX2818D is a great choice for firing wide objects, such as platters, yet the kiln’s low profile makes it easy to load and unload. The BX2818D is a double-insulated kiln with 2.5″ of premium firebrick, plus 1″ of solid block insulation. The extra insulation ensures even firings, stops heat loss through the walls and lid, saves 30% in electricity costs, and lengthens element life. The kiln comes equipped with heavy-duty Kanthal A-1 elements in the walls and floor – which means that this model can effortlessly fire up to cone 10, even with a dense load. This model features a Bartlett electronic 12-key controller with 2-zone control, and also comes outfitted with Cone Art’s Lid Lifter at no extra charge, so you will never have to worry about moving its lid on your own! For the platter-making potter, the BX2818D will be a very welcome addition to your studio.
