Dual media kilns are designed for the individual or business who works with multiple media. The ‘dual media’ title means that the kiln can reach high firing temperatures for stoneware, pottery, and ceramics, as well as lower temperatures for fusing and slumping glass — the element in the kiln’s lid is further testament to its versatility, as this is a crucial feature for glass kilns. All dual media (DM) models high fire to 2350F and have a lid element to fuse glass. Dual Media models are built with Olympic’s proven electrical box design — this design has heat shields with top and bottom perforations to keep the electrical elements cool, and balanced heating elements insure even heating of the firing chamber under all firing conditions.

Options for customization:
First, select the correct voltage for your kiln’s space – 240V or 208V, as well as phasing – either single-phase or three-phase. If you are unsure, please check with an electrician before placing your order. The Dual Media 2523HE also offers two options for your kiln controller — the KilnStar 3-key or 12-key controller.
